How do I add my Facebook Messenger Bot to my website?

Updated 3 hours ago by Karol Jastrzebowski

Talking to your bot

To talk to your bot on Facebook, click the “Message Us” button created on the integration page. On desktop browsers, users that click this button will be sent to messenger.com and on mobile, they will be redirected to the Messenger app.

To market your bot to end users and make it easier to find, you can get your bot's unique link from the https://www.messenger.com/...URL shown on the desktop browser.

Alternatively, you can embed one of Facebook's web plugins to promote your bot via Messenger using a button you host on your website.

Web plugins

You can use Facebook web plugins for the desktop and mobile web, and these sections show you how to integrate your bot to add to your web code.

Message Us

The Message Us web plugin, as demonstrated above, allows you to send your users straight to Messenger to talk to your bot.

The web code that you need to create a "Message Us" button for your bot is shown if you click the "Create your own Message Us button" link.

The Send to Messenger web plugin allows you to authenticate the current user on the Messenger platform as a user of your bot. If the user is not logged into Messenger, they will be prompted to log in.

The web code that you need to create a “Send to Messenger” button for your bot is shown if you click the “Create your own Send to Messenger button” link.
